The history of Noblesville goes back to 1818, when the government bought land from Native Americans living in the are, which is now known as Hamilton County. The earliest European settler was William Conner, who established a trading post in central Indiana in 1802. In 1823, Conner and Josiah Polk laid out the area that became downtown Noblesville. In 1823, Noblesville was declared the Hamilton county seat and it was incorporated in 1851.
